GT Identify, Delivering Fleet-Wide Visibility and Control of Maritime IT Assets

We’re pleased to announce the launch of GT Identify, a maritime-focused cybersecurity visibility solution designed to help ship operators improve cybersecurity posture through fleet-wide insight into onboard hardware, software and cyber exposure. GT Identify enables operators to maintain clearer oversight across distributed environments and take faster, more informed action to reduce cyber risk.

“From our years of experience in maritime, we know that ship operators continue to face significant challenges in maintaining accurate oversight of onboard IT systems.” says Jamie Jones, COO, GTMaritime. “Those issues motivated our team, and GT Identify is the solution.”

Regulatory pressure continues to increase, supporting compliance efforts with IMO cyber risk management expectations, NIST-aligned approaches, and IACS E26 requirements. To help address this, GT Identify provides organisations with a structured, audit-supporting view of onboard systems, allowing them to better evidence alignment with recognised frameworks and maritime cyber requirements.

Core capabilities include comprehensive asset auditing to provide a full inventory of connected hardware and software on a vessel-by-vessel basis, and vulnerability reporting to highlight outdated or exposed components before they become security risks.

By aligning directly with the “Identify” function of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, GT Identify provides the essential foundation for effective cyber risk management at sea.

A GT Identify beta customer commented: “We improved our cybersecurity posture in 24 hours.”

Unlike generic IT cybersecurity tools adapted from shore-based environments, GT Identify has been purpose-built for maritime operations. It recognises the added complexity of managing IT assets across distributed fleets operating under multiple regulatory regimes. GT Identify provides a structured, compliance-ready view of vessel IT assets, enabling organisations to evidence alignment with recognised frameworks and industry requirements. A centralised, fleet-wide view gives IT and compliance teams clear visibility of their environment, supporting stronger governance, reduced risk, and more informed decision-making across the organisation.

The product has been developed by our maritime IT specialists and shaped through close collaboration with customers. GT Identify was co-created through discovery sessions with existing clients, with active customer involvement throughout the design and validation phases. Beta users have been operating the platform in live environments since September 2025, with customer feedback directly influencing functionality, usability and reporting.

GT Identify is the first solution to be released as part of our wider GT Hub platform – a framework built specifically for the operational realities of the maritime industry. Additional modules are planned for release throughout 2026. Together, these will form a comprehensive, modular approach to maritime IT Asset Management and cybersecurity for global fleets.
